I’m excited to refocus my energies as a southern Maine wedding photographer this coming year! The Lakes Region and the Western Maine mountains are freakin’ gorgeous. Portland and the ocean are less than an hour away, too.
This past September Cassie and Chris were wed at Fort Knox in Prospect, Maine. I used to live right down the road from this awesome historical park which happens to host a Fright at The Fort every October.
Cassie & Chris allotted A LOT of time for their guests to explore Fort Knox after the ceremony, and for us to take pictures, too. As a photographer this made my heart swell, not that unlike The Grinch. Haha. But in all seriousness pictures take time. I love it when we have plenty of time!
The day was unusually warm for a September in Maine. Therefore the cool dark recesses were a welcome reprieve. Cassie’s grandmother actually owned one of the large white homes across the river in Bucksport. It could be seen from the fort, and at her request we worked it in a couple of the photos.
I always ask my couples, “if you could have one perfect picture from their wedding day what would it be?” For Cassie it was a picture of her and Chris which also captured the spirit of the Fort. I think we nailed it!
